Java Web Service Developer

The Company

Green Feather Software is an early-stage startup that builds powerful and intuitive products that help healthcare companies improve patients’ lives while growing their revenue and reducing costs. We are expanding our engineering team to accelerate the pace of our mission to revolutionize healthcare payments through our first product, Feather Pay.

Green Feather is located in Atlanta, GA., and we are open to a fully remote setup for the right candidate. 


We are looking for a Java Web Services developer to help us continue building our multi tenant SaaS payments platform, Feather Pay. You should have experience building web services in Java using Spring, know relational databases and be comfortable using Git with a team. We have a “no politics”, “low meetings”, and “get it done” culture at Green Feather. We work closely as a team, and we love (and expect!) great ideas and input from all team members.


  • Create efficient, secure RESTful web services using Spring Boot.
  • Integrate with third party components and services including payment gateways (, Affirm, Allegro, GreenSky, Amazon Pay, Paypal, others), support integrations with eComm, CRM, or EHR software (such as SalesForce, DrChrono, WooCommerce, and others) and other services (QuickBooks, Jira, others).
  • Write and maintain automated unit and API tests.
  • Add and change our relational database schema with the database as code tool Flyway.
  • Break down and estimate projects, features and bug fixes. Propose alternatives that save development but still accomplish goals.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Identify bottlenecks and defects, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
  • Learn new technologies and skills. Suggest and implement new technologies to improve the platform.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience is required.
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Java. Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring framework.  Experience writing RESTful web services.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with SQL and designing schemas; preferably Postgres.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with Git source control in a team environment.
  • Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit is highly desired.
  • Experience with payments and payment APIs is desired.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with Scrum and Kanban is desired.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is desired.
  • Experience with Linux is desired.
  • Must possess strong debugging and problem solving skills; ability to identify, research and resolve issues.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are required. Experience working on a multi-developer team is important.
  • Ability to concisely summarize and present basic requirements, status, risks, and issues for existing projects.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Must enjoy working in a dynamic, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that focuses on continuous improvement and direct communication.

Reporting to the VP, Client Acquisition and Analytics, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading key marketing activities in the healthcare industry with specific intent to drive pipeline in support of new customer acquisition efforts. This person will have a key role in building a brand, developing and maintaining a pipeline of prospective customers and managing a number of critical external partners in a fast paced startup environment.  This job is located in Atlanta, GA.

Key responsibilities include

  • Build, own, and execute the customer acquisition plan and associated campaigns (both digital and direct), including
    • Building and maintaining marketing and sales collateral
    • Creating and maintaining prospect lists
    • Executing and optimizing email marketing campaigns
    • Maintaining prospect funnel

  • Coordinate broader brand building and product marketing activities, including
    • Partner marketing
    • Branding and positioning of new products
    • Target market evaluation
    • Customer/prospect interviews

  • Owning marketing tools, including
    • Salesforce/Hubspot CRM
    • Linkedin
    • SalesLoft
    • Pardot
    • ZoomInfo

  • Managing relationship with external partners, including marketing agencies and business development firms



What you’ve done

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales, marketing agency, or management consulting
  • A track record of exemplary achievement in an academic or professional setting
  • SaaS, startup or healthcare industry experience a plus
